Session 4: Checkdesk – Collaborative UGC Verification Tool
14:00 - 15:00

Check desk is an open source platform for enabling collaborative fact-checking of eyewitness media and newsworthy social media. It is designed to generate a shareable and embeddable object that can be place alongside a story or feature. The heart of Checkdesk is the simple chronologically ordered log of the reporting teams entries.

This session, facilitated by Meedan’s CEO, Ed Bice, will be a hand’s on workshop leading journalists through typical workflows with Checkdesk from establishing the story/project container, to adding reports, inviting collaborators, and setting a report status. This is a non-technical workshop but participants who want to be hands on should bring their laptops and, if possible, share their email addresses before the session to ed@meedan.com
